What we work on
Most of the businesses we work with have outgrown the tools they started with. Customer details live in several inboxes, a spreadsheet has quietly become the most important file in the company, or two systems that should share information need someone to copy it across by hand. Our work falls into four areas:
How we work
Every project starts with a free assessment: a phone call about how your business runs and where it gets stuck. If there’s something worth building, we write it up as a fixed-price proposal in plain language, so you know what you’re paying for before any work starts.
We build in stages, so you see working software along the way and can change direction between stages. Sometimes the right answer is a well-set-up product you can buy, and we’ll say so. When we do build, you own the code, the design and the content once the project is paid for.
You have a dedicated contact on our team from the first call to support after launch, so you’re never passed between departments. After launch we can keep your website or system updated, backed up and monitored.
The name
A foundry casts metal into a shape that fits the job. We see software the same way: built around how your business works, rather than the other way round.
Base Foundry in Winnipeg is the company at basefoundry.ca. Other projects and companies use similar names, including on GitHub and other web addresses, and they aren’t connected to us.
